Reiki Master Teacher

Welcome!!!

Namaste!!!
(The Spirit in Me honors the Spirit in You)

Here it is! regular_smile My very own Reiki Web Site!

I became a “Reiki Master/Teacher” May 15, 2004.
I had no idea what that would mean to me at the time and have had an amazing Reiki journey ever since.

I have created this web site so that I can share with you a little bit about what Reiki has done for me,
what Reiki has done for others, and what Reiki can do for you!

There are scores of amazing Reiki web sites available today.
I want to provide you with something different, more personal.  However, here are some of my favorites if you’d like more history and background on Reiki:
www.Reiki.org
www.freereikinews.com
www.reiki.7gen.com
www.christianreiki.org

This web site is for you to use for personal exploration-to stretch your comfort zone and consider the possibility that your life, your body, your mind and your soul CAN change. Consider the possibility that YOU have the ability to heal yourself, to change yourself and to live healthily and wholly.

Reiki (Ray-Key) literally means: Universal, Life Force Energy or Spiritually guided Life Force Energy.

What does THAT mean???

Life Force Energy-That’s what’s known as Chi or Ki-it’s the energy that makes us…alive.   That energy that separates the living and the dead! You KNOW when you meet someone with low life force energy! They seem vacant, lethargic, apathetic. You also know when you meet someone who is full to the brim with life force energy! You want to be around them, they light up the room when they walk in…you know them.

Is there some sort of Life Force Energy ration??? Do some people get more and some people get less??? Of course not!!!!! There is enough for EVERYBODY!!! That’s where the “Universal” part comes in. You have to think a little outside of the box for this, but just CONSIDER the possibility that there’s enough of this energy for everyone to be full! (Just for fun, imagine what the world would be like if we were all “full of it”) teeth_smile

So…where do you get some???
There are several ways to boost your chi! You can sing, dance, garden, oct 08 020.JPGwalk in nature, hold a baby, NanaPapaJ2.JPGpet a dog, summer 08 014.JPGcreate art, eat good food, may 08 013.JPGlaugh, have sex, meditate, pray, surround yourself with beauty,June 09 020.JPG love someone, have an attitude of gratitude, be kind, have faith, be caring,100_0927.JPG be helpful and so much more!!! If it feels good, it’s boosting your chi!
Another way is to have energy work. There are many varieties. I am going to talk about Reiki since that’s my specialty regular_smile
Reiki IS the Universal Life Force Energy being channeled from the Universe through the practitioner to the recipient. The fresh, new energy is pulled in by the recipient who is then able to let go of old energy that may hold unwanted blocks and old habits/beliefs.

How does Reiki work???

This is the best explanation I have read so far:
We are all energy-that’s a fact. We are little bits of energy that work together to make us whole. Energy has a vibration-so we are little vibrating energy balls. tounge_smile When things vibrate, they are said to have a frequency. Therefore, everything we know vibrates at a certain frequency. When you are FULL of life force energy, you have a higher vibration than someone who is chi challenged (someone who has anger, fear, greed, dishonesty, jealousy, meanness, laziness, eats unhealthy food, is surrounded by low vibrating people, uses drugs or alcohol etc.).
So, that being said, pretend your natural vibration is 87%, and let’s say the flu germ vibrates at 63%-the germ would naturally bounce off of you and you’d be fine. Now, imagine you have compromised your vibration by becoming worried, angry or upset. Your vibration lowers and now you may resonate with that flu bug. Guess what happens?
If you’re a person who seems to get sick a lot, maybe you need to raise your vibration!!!

In November 2002 (I think) I had meningitis. Who gets that??? I asked the doctor how in the world I got that-he said my immune system must have been compromised for a short time. I had a 2 year old and probably hadn’t slept in months-among other things. Yep-LOW chi! (Now I see commercials warning parents against their children catching meningitis! I can’t believe it! What’s going on???)

Let’s say Reiki has a 100% vibration.  (I’m just using these numbers as examples-I have no proof that these are the actually numbers that we vibrate at…in fact, would we measure vibration in percentages?? I don’t know-but these numbers are just to help communicate the concept.) Imagine you are a radio and while your normal station may be set at a frequency of 87, while receiving Reiki your frequency turns up to 100. When the Reiki session is over, your station may go back to your original setting or it may change. Depending on what happens in your life and how you act or react to it, your frequency may even go down. But whenever you turn yourself to the Reiki channel (by having Reiki done to you OR by giving Reiki once you’re attuned to the Reiki energy-see How can I Learn Reiki), your frequency returns to 100. This is when your body has the opportunity to heal itself. When your mind is free from worry and stress, and old energy and beliefs are cleared out so room can be made for clearer thinking!

 sessioin

During a Reiki session, old energy is released. That means you have the opportunity to let go of stress, anger, fear, sadness, worry, jealousy … sound familiar??? The gooey stuff that destroys our chi can be let go. It moves out of the way and new, fresh energy replaces it. Imagine what that does! You feel more clarity, more energy etc. etc. Depending on what you let go of, you may feel a little … less than perfect for a day or so after the session. If you’ve heard of a “detox”, it’s very similar to that. People “detox” their livers or gall bladders (and other things) to get the toxins out and have cleaner insides. This usually involves several many trips to the restroom. A Reiki session can, but does not always, leave you with a bit of a detox as well. You are moving old, toxic energy out-some people feel tired, hungry, cry a lot during/afterward. It all depends on how much energy moves out and what kind of energy it is. If I’ve moved a load of energy, it always shows up in my sinuses…ick. Everyone’s different, and it doesn’t always happen. I always hope for some kind of ickiness, because it’s a sure sign something MOVED!!!

During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed and covered, lying face up on a massage table. I lay my hands your head, shoulders, chest, solar plexus, stomach, hips, feet etc. It is completely non-invasive.

The treatment feels like warm, glowing radiance flowing through you and surrounding you. Reiki treats the whole person including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Each person experiences something different and unique specific to his or her needs at the time. Nearly everyone reports feelings of peace, serenity and deep relaxation.

I think it’s important at this time to address your part in the Reiki session.  Reiki is an awesome and powerful tool to help you heal, de-stress and improve your life overall. HOWEVER…it gives you the energetic tools to HEAL YOURSELF. The power to heal is yours. If you are READY for change, if you are READY for improved health, abundance, happiness and more, it’s there for the taking. If you say you want to be healthy, but in reality are not ready to give up the benefits of being unhealthy, you’re not going to realize that change. What MAY happen though is that you may have a moment of clarity, in the days or weeks after the session, in which you realize WHY you are hanging on to your dis-ease. You may realize that (for instance) having a migraine headache every Friday night may NOT be from a stressful week at work after all, but instead a way to have quiet time to yourself that you so desperately crave. You have this moment of clarity, decide to schedule “me time” during the week, giving your body, mind and spirit what it needs to re-charge and you suddenly start spending Friday nights with your family instead of locked in your bedroom with the lights off. You’re still getting the SAME pay off (time to re-charge), but in a much more healthy, balanced and enjoyable way! You let go of old belief patterns (I have to be sick to have time alone) and took the opportunity to heal yourself (I see I need time alone) and improved your life (time to re-charge without the illness)!
Yay You!!

Following your session, you will want to drink extra water, have a good meal and relax. It’s a good idea to schedule your session when you know you can take care and time for yourself for several hours afterward. Many people report feeling lighter, more energetic and generally more relaxed in day to day activities in the hours and days following their session.

Who can benefit from Reiki?

Well, by now, I hope that you can see that Reiki is such an effective and gentle way to help ANYONE with ANYTHING! The possibilities are endless really. Reiki does no harm. It is pure, loving energy that can work on its own or with any other healing modality.

If you aren’t sure that Reiki is for you, you can certainly email me or call me-let me know if you have questions-I’d be HAPPY to talk with you! You should know that no matter WHAT it is that is causing you discomfort, your Reiki session is confidential and Reiki does not judge. We are all here doing the best we can with what we’ve got. Reiki is your tool to let go and LIVE!

Children, the elderly and animals are generally very open to Reiki and can receive a fully effective treatment in about half the time as general adults.

The frequency of treatment is unique to each person. One session can move major blockages and relieve stress. More than one session could change your life! Everyone is different and should discuss with his/her Reiki practitioner what is right for them. A Client and Student of mine told me she’d have Reiki every week if it were in her budget! So you can see that your Reiki path is up to you.

How Can I Learn Reiki?

Reiki is a time honored, sacred method of bringing balance and harmony to the body, mind and soul. It is passed on from teacher to student.

Reiki is taught in a very organized manner and consists of three interlocking and interrelated degrees or levels. As a Master-Teacher of the Usui system of Reiki, I have received the attunements and training that empower me to teach the highest levels of Reiki. My teachers came in a direct line from Dr. Mikao Usui, the man who re-discovered Reiki in the late 19th century.

*First Degree: This is the beginning level of Reiki and it is very powerful. You will learn the history of Reiki, receive four attunements and training in specific methods of applying Reiki energy for both self-treatment and giving a Reiki treatment to others. You will learn basic hand positions and ways to recognize how the body communicates its problems. This class is approximately eight hours in length and is taught in two separate sessions. The cost of first level Reiki training is $125.00. A certificate is issued to each participant upon completion of the training.

*Second Degree: The second level is available to any student who has completed the first level and has a First Degree Reiki Certificate. I recommend that a student wait at least three months after completing the first level training before moving into the second level. The reasons for this suggestion become apparent to most first level students. During second d-egree training, the student moves into a deeper time-space continuum, as he or she learns to send healing Reiki energy long distance and is taught techniques for assisting in clearing mental/emotional energy patterns that may be perceived as being harmful or disruptive. This class includes two second level attunements. Second level training is accomplished in one day of about 6-7 hours depending upon the number of students participating in the class. The cost of Second Level training is $150.00. A certificate of completion is issued to each student.

Classes are professionally taught by Reiki Master, Amy Nesdahl. It is the policy that each student should be able to receive as much attention as possible. Therefore each class is limited in size. Students receive individual attention as well as plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Already know Reiki?
YAY!!!!
Come join The Reiki Circle!

Each month I will organize a Reiki Circle where anyone who knows Reiki (you do not have to have been MY student) can come share stories and ask questions. We will give Reiki to each other and give distance healings. This is a time to meet Reiki friends and strengthen our Reiki community.
Please email me if you are interested in attending The Reiki Circle. I will post the info on this web site, but I would like to have you on an email list in case there are changes.

hand light

I love Reiki.
It is balance and harmony.
It is peace and light.
It is love and light and calm.
It is does not judge-it heals everyone.

By raising your vibration, by healing yourself, you are raising the vibration of the world and healing the world. By breaking old patterns and beliefs and letting go of old energy that is no longer serving you, you are creating the life and body that you desire.

I look forward to working with you when you are ready.

Namaste!
